It is a cold and icy day in
By far the most annoying thing in the whole world on ice days are the people who just can’t make it to work. This morning, after my hour and a half 20mph drive to work, a coworker (who lives closer to work than me) called to tell me she couldn’t make it and would I tell her manager. I told her that her manager was here and I would transfer her. She was is utter shock that he was here and asked who else was missing besides her. I informed her that she was one of three not here, the other two living less than ten miles from work, by the way.
Well she just showed up, at 12:50. From the minute she walked in the door she has been going cube to cube to tell her stories of how bad the bridges were. She is making the rounds faster than a politician at a fundraising rally. We all seemed to make it across those bridges.

I'm sorry. I know how much that irritates you.
See you this pm!

As annoying as she was for not coming in even though she lived so close (and I bet her car was in a garage so she didn't even actually have to scrape the ice off), maybe it would've been better if she'd have stayed home. I don't mind driving in bad conditions, but people who can't handle it should stay off the road so they don't run into me!

Sorry that posted 4 times - I thought it wasn't posting at all at first as my comments weren't showing up...
That's pretty irritating. I realize that Texans are not used to winter weather like that and that the cities don't have the equipment to make the roads safe, but she didn't have to be obnoxious about it. She'd have a heart attack if she saw what I drove to work through back on Dec. 1st.
Seth would tell you about the people who are polar opposite of her: The people who drive in that kind of weather and don't act like it is icy at all. They blow by people going the regular speed or faster.
TREY I REALIZED YOU HAD BECOME A REAL YANKEE IN MIND IF NOT HEART WHEN ALL YOU COMPLAINED ABOUT WAS THAT THE LOT AT YOUR APT HAD NOT BEEN CLEARED WHEN YOU WERE READY TO LEAVE. BETWEEN TOWN OF THE COE AND DFW ROADS REALLY WEREN'T BAD, MONDAY OR WEDNESDAY. BUT WE ROAD THE TRAIN ( YES THERE IS SOME MASS TRANSIT IN TEXAS ) TO THE STARS GAME WEDNESDAY NITE.
That was "town of the cow". Brain goes faster than fingers.
My parents came down from Fairbanks Alaska to be with us and our new baby, and they just had to laugh at all the crazy Texans. My dad likes to tell how he will boil water and throw it up in the air and it will be ice before it hits the ground!
Now that's COLD!
