The First 48 Hours

Well it has been an exhilarating 48 hour ride. Lots of visitors and lots of staring have dominated our time. We have naps interrupted by nurses interrupted by more visitors. What a blessing to have so many people come and visit, pray and care for us.

Mom and Eli are doing great. They have had some challenges with feedings. Otherwise every nurse and doctor seems pleased with their progress. I have changed my first four diapers, including one where the pee soaked through the blanket! I was actually excited to be able to do that. We have prayed and waited so long for him, that it will take awhile for these little things to be mundane and old.

Here is visitor list in order of appearance:
Jenise - honor of the first non-grandparent visitor
Nathan, Abbey, Salomae & Jachin
Mary C.
Jordan and Lisa
Jim L.
Rosemary
Honorary Aunt Erin and Uncle Bryan
John and Robin
Larry and DeeDee
Andrew and Amy
Kathy and Abbey
Jeff, Teri and Rachel
Uncle Shawn and Aunt Dana

Thanks for your continued support and prayers. For all of you who have called and we missed you (SETH) please, please feel free to call again. I promise we were just tied up with baby business as the time. Our continuing prayer request is that Eli and Holly get to working together with their feedings! A few pictures:

We had feeding issues too. Feel free to call if you need encouragement. After teaching other mothers to breastfeed as a speech therapist it was so shocking that it didn't come easily. We were so grateful for the lactation consultant...take advantage of that at the hospital. We will be praying that Eli will get the feeding thing down because we totally know how tiring this can be. Jackson didn't really eat for like 5 days. We assumed you had a call list so we have tried not to call to give you the honor of making the announcement calls. Call when the dust settles because we have been there and understand. Congrats again!
love, Kristen..Seth and Jackson too!

Good luck to Holly - never done it myself, but I've heard about and can only imagine how frustrating it must be.

Congrats again - he looks beautiful!

Congrats! We'll be in Texas over the weekend and will have to drop in and say "hey." I'll give you a buzz when we're in town.
